Evening Groups 2018-19

Jennersville Campus – Tuesday Evening, Starting January 8, 2019
6:45-8:30 p.m.

Option One – The Quest by Beth Moore

Join us on an exciting, 12- week excursion towards a deeper relationship with Jesus. Our map will be Beth Moore’s newest study, The Quest.  Beth will teach us to use Scripture and our own questions to lead us into “intimate dialogue” with the One who knows us best—a God who desires to be found and known.

Through Beth’s teaching videos and Bible study journals, our group will learn to:  “develop intimacy with God through prayer; explore challenging questions and responses from the Bible; track our individual quests by journaling; and embrace the adventure that comes with living a life for God”.

We will be dedicating two weeks for each study session, in order to make homework easily manageable.  The Quest is appropriate for beginners through advanced learners.

Option Two – Anchored: Being Grounded in the Gospel.

Let’s begin the new year by exploring the awesome benefits of being truly grounded in the Gospel!  We will dig into Pastor Greg’s newest study, which explores how Jesus individually seeks us out, wanting to make us a part of God’s larger story.

Topics include: Finding Ourselves in the Story; Knowing the God of the Story; Discovering the New You; Living a Blessed Life; Learning to Pray; Experiencing Supernatural Community; Taking God to Work; and Making Love a Must.

In Greg’s own words: “You see, Jesus has attached us to God through his perfect atoning death, his powerful resurrection, and his glorious ascension to the throne of Heaven.  That’s our anchor!  Now in Christ, nothing can separate us from the Father’s Love.  We are fixed and secure in Him.  God’s Promises are guaranteed.  Come what may on the stormy seas down here, we are utterly secure up there!”

Our study is a 10-session experience, comprised of short videos, Scripture, dynamic group discussion, a service project and individual processing sessions (15-30 minutes, 5 times per week).  Appropriate for beginners through advanced learners.

JOB – A Story of Unlikely Joy by Lisa Harper

January 10 to February 28

Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord. And while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus.  Just ask Job, the man from Uz who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away. But how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow? In this 7-session study by Lisa Harper, discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. Learn to use pain to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and remember God’s providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you.

The Faithful: Heroes from the Old Testament

March 14 to April 25

A new release borrowing from best-selling studies by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild, this 7-session study explores crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures—Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people. Strengthen your faith as you walk alongside these larger-than-life figures that all chose to obey God no matter the circumstances.

Kennett Campus – Thursday Evening, Starting January 10

Option One – A Closer Look at Jesus Through Hebrews

January 10th – April 25th

The Bible is one big story, but sometimes it’s hard to see the connection between the Old and New Testaments. The letter to the Hebrews offers a rich and detailed bridge that unites them. With the Old Testament background in mind, Hebrews leads us to see that God’s glory and redemptive plan are ultimately revealed in Jesus Christ. Powerful examples, encouraging words, firm warnings, and theological richness focus our attention on Jesus as not only supreme, but also loving and compassionate. The study involves simple and engaging homework questions that should take 15 minutes a day; it is complemented by live teaching and group discussion

Option Two (One group in two parts) one fee includes both

Part 1- January 10th – March 14th

Jennifer Rothschild has a new release: Psalm 23– The Shepherd With Me

Description: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Many women know Psalm 23 by heart but haven’t experienced its power in their lives. This beloved psalm can breathe new life into women who are weary and unsure of their next steps. It’s more than a psalm that comforts in death; it gives confidence in life.

In this 7-session study by Jennifer Rothschild, gain fresh insight and encouragement from Psalm 23. Explore the depths of God’s compassionate care while debunking the self-reliance myth. Learn how your vulnerability is not a liability because you can trust the Shepherd’s goodness throughout each season of life.

Part 2- March 21st – April 25th

Seed Pack 2: Priscilla Shrier

A series of short videos that include thought-provoking, modern-day parables with weekly Bible study guides. The homework is designed around Priscilla’s 5 Ps teaching method, helping those who participate to dig deeper into Scripture. Sessions will focus on Armor, Five, and Glory.
